Q: I have had some corrupted web pages and I have some general problems downloading Infotriever or Infotriever items. What should I do?

A:

You may need to clear out your Internet cache by performing the following steps.

Internet Explorer Users

  • Click on START - SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL.
  • Click on the INTERNET OPTIONS icon.  A Tabbed dialog box will appear.
  • Click on DELETE FILES.  On the delete dialog, check the DELETE ALL OFFLINE CONTENT checkbox.
  • Click the OK button.

Netscape Users

  • Click on EDIT - PREFERENCES. A Dialog box will appear.
  • On the left hand side you will see a menu. Select ADVANCED.
  • The Sub Menu will appear. Select CACHE.
  • Click on CLEAR MEMORY CACHE.
  • Click on CLEAR DISK CACHE.
  • Click on OK.

Once this is completed please try your download again.

Q: I use an older Netscape browser (such as Netscape 4.7x) and I have had trouble downloading items from some Infotriever enabled sites. Is there some way I can work around this issue?

A:

To work around this limitation we suggest that you use Internet Explorer. All current versions of Windows have a compatible version of Internet Explorer on it. All you have to do is use Internet Explorer to download your items, just as you would use Netscape. The download process will proceed as normal. The only issue that you may see is that once the item has been downloaded, the success page may appear in Netscape and not Internet Explorer. You will have to manually close all the browser windows that were opened.

Note: This will only occur if your default browser is Netscape.
