Q: How much RAM does Infotriever use on my Palm device?
A: The Infotriever application on the Palm uses only 4K of memory.
Q: I have just installed Infotriever for my Palm device and downloaded some event or contact information. The information does not appear in my Palm. What's wrong?
A: There is nothing wrong. When Infotriever is first installed to work with the Palm HotSync Manager, you will need to HotSync twice to your Palm device. This is because the Infotriever software is installed on the first sync and then the information is inserted using Infotriever on the second sync. Event information will appear in the calendar section and contact information will appear in the address book section of your Palm.
Q: I clicked on someone's LiveContactTM and received a confirmation that the contact was added to my organizer, but I don't see the record in my Palm Desktop address book. Where is it?
A: Palm device users must perform a HotSync to view an event or contact that was downloaded. After clicking on an event or contact and successfully downloading it to your system, red and yellow arrows will surround the Infotriever icon. This is an indication that a HotSync is required to insert the data into your organizer. During the HotSync, the information is added to the Palm handheld device, and then it is synchronized back to your desktop application.
Q: I try to install the Infotriever client and when I select PalmHotSync Manager as my Organizer it asks me to select a user but the list is blank! What do I do?
A: The issue may occur if your data directory is not the same directory as the rest of your Palm program files. To verify this please do the following:
- Open the Palm desktop.
- Click on TOOLS - OPTIONS. A tabbed dialog box should appear.
- Under the GENERAL tab there is a data directory list. Please ensure that this is in the same location as the rest of your Palm program files.
- Re-install the Infotriever client.
Note: If you are required to move your data directory you should move ALL the data for the user.
Q: How do I uninstall and reinstall the Infotriever client on my Palm Pilot?
A: You will have to manually delete the Infotriever.prc file from your Palm.
To delete this file please go to APPLICATIONS - DELETE from inside your Palm.
To uninstall the client, please do the following:
- Click on START -- PROGRAMS -- INFOTRIEVER.
- Click on the UNINSTALL INFOTRIEVER menu item. The Uninstaller should start up automatically. Note: It is strongly recommended that you reboot you computer before you continue with re-downloading the client.
To re-download the client:
- Go to http://www.infotriever.com.
- Select Users.
- Click on the Download link at the left of the page.
- Please follow the on screen instruction on how to process with the installation.
