What is Infotriever?

Infotriever is a client-server ASP web service that delivers and updates events and contacts from Infotriever-enabled partner companies into personal desktop organizers such as Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, Palm OS, and others, and through sync solutions, into any Palm, Windows CE or Blackberry PDA.  In order to provide this service, Infotriever requires a small desktop client software application to be installed on users' desktops.  The client desktop software may be self-installed by the user, or deployed by you using Infotriever SysAdmin installer.

Which personal information managers (PIMs) does Infotriever support?

• Lotus Notes® 8.x/7.x/6.x/5.x
• Palm OS® handheld devices using Palm Os 5.x/4.x/3.x
• Microsoft® Outlook Express® 5.5x+ (contact support only)

Infotriever runs on Windows Vista/XP/Me/2000 with Internet Explorer 5.5/6.0/7.0 or Firefox 1.5/2.0.

We are concerned about security and have a very restrictive firewall. How can we enable Infotriever for our users?

Infotriever uses 128-bit encryption and an MD5 hashing algorithm.  We have hundreds of thousands of users in thousands of companies worldwide, including such security-conscious organizations as investment banks, governmental organizations, and defense contractors.  To fully utilize the Infotriever service, please ensure that the following domains are accessible from your environment:

How does Infotriever protect our users' privacy?

Our business depends on protecting user privacy.  Our privacy policy is TRUSTe-certified with EU Safe Harbor, and we are a member in good standing of BBBOnline.  We have never, and will never, share or sell personal information without user consent (with the usual exception for legal requirements).  Furthermore, we don't spam, and we contain no spyware of any form.  For more information, please review our privacy policy or email us at privacy@infotriever.com.

How can I deploy Infotriever within our company?

There are two ways to deploy Infotriever to users:  1) individual user download; or 2) SysAdmin installer for multiple users in corporate environments.

Individual User:  Any individual user can download the Infotriever desktop software for free from the Infotriever website, or the software will automatically install on demand when attempting to download Infotriever-enabled information from a partner website or email.  Please note that individual or corporate subscriptions may be required in order to use the Infotriever service from some websites and services.

Multiple Users:  Request our SysAdmin installer to certify the Infotriever desktop software and deploy it to an unlimited number of users within your company.

What rights are required to install Infotriever?

Generally, the following rights and permissions are required for individuals to install Infotriever on their computers:

• the ability to create directories and files under the default Windows Program Files folder;
• the ability to create registry entries;
• the permission to install web browser plugins (ActiveX for Internet Explorer and Netscape browser plugin for Netscape).

The SysAdmin installer allows for installation under User profile, and enables the System Administrator to specify the install folder.
